Skördefest – harvest season

Here in Swedish Lapland we call the harvest seasons „skördefest“

We can as well have a “skördefest” this year – thanks to our helpers Hanna and Johanna. Hanna took care of the small plant early in the year and Johanna took over after she arrived with the bike – she came all the way from Southern Germany to Swedish Lapland by bike!

We planted many different vegetables – tomatoes, chard, cauliflower, broccoli, pumpkin, radish, carrots,…

I can already say now that all the different cabbage vegetables didn´t made it because of a small, small fly which destroyed the cabbage vegetables.

The only protection against those flies is a special “blanket” with which you cover the plants… we haven´t done that…

That meant more time for the tomatoes, radish, carrots, chard and pumpkins.

The biggest success were and still are the tomatoes – they are almost too big for the greenhouse!
